Selling Yourself - Getting Clients by Using the Words of Others straight through customer Testimonials

Selling yourself is a constant in today's global market place. There are many marketing and strategies to selling tactics that will assist you in what appears sometimes to be a never ending quest in getting clients.

One very efficient strategy and tactic is to use the words of others or buyer testimonials. Sales Training Coaching Tip: people buy from people the know and trust. The trusted words of others can go a long way within the sales process.

Do It Yourself

This marketing and selling advent does have its challenges and its limits. Is not the golden panacea in getting clients. However these sales training coaching tips may help cut those challenges.

First, when using the words of others ask for written permission straight through a signed release. Furnish your buyer the choice to pull that release any time in the future.

Second, help your existing buyer by providing aid as to the specifics you are seeking. In your letter requesting the testimonial comprise what you are seeking such as:

  • The results achieved straight through the purchase of your products or services
  • The attention to buyer service
  • The ability of the products or services

Third, forewarn your client his or her words may be used on your website, your printed marketing material and in general conversations. In some cases depending upon your actual products or services, your customers may not want the rest of the world to know that they made these purchases. Fourth, keep all testimonials in a Brag Book. In a three ring binder, place each testimonial into a clear, transparent sheet protector. This Brag Book could also comprise any thank you notes. Place this range of testimonials in your office meeting room or in your car for when the opportunity presents itself. Sales Training Coaching Tip: You may wish to have 2 or more copies, one for the office and the other for your car or the cars of your sales team.

Fifth, how you use your testimonials is a direct reflection of your definite core values. In selling yourself, your behaviors from your values statement within your strategic performance plan will all the time be front and center.

Standing out like the Red Jacket in the sea of gray suits, is truly a never ending challenge. By using the words of your customers, you are selling yourself straight through those very words and overcoming this challenge. Focused testimonials are a very grand strategy to differentiate you in the market place and ultimately should help you growth sales.
